...I keep meaning to put more stuff, and then I don't. Yup.
Basically this summer was a black hole of laziness (among other things, including failing to get a job and teaching VBS and dealing with a death in the family). But it's good to be back at school!
I got to start my major classes, which are pretty excellent. I've had classes I've liked before, but Fashion 3D is the first class I've had that I've actively wanted to have more hours of it in a week. Any doubts I had about majoring in fashion are gone now, which is good. I'm sometimes frustrated by the industry focus, since I really am mostly interesting in having the skills so I can go into costume design later, but ultimately it's all useful I guess.
I wrapped up my Pathfinder campaign; I unfortunately had to truncate the plot a bit but I think it went over well. My friend is doing a great job on the new campaign and I'm really enjoying it. I'm playing a halfling fighter with a gladiator theme and she is so much fun. I'm also messing around with a few ideas for the senior year campaign; there's an area of the world we really haven't done much with and I think there's a lot of potential there (if that isn't a little too self-congratulatory). Meanwhile, the SCP friend is now doing an A:TLA-based story (the SCP one ended more or less without me as I handed my character over to a suitemate due to being distracted by other things - but it is being made into a comic by someone from the comic club, which is cool!), and that's pretty neat. Our group is a little lacking in cohesion but the plot is really great.
The SW:TOR group sort of fell through as one by one friends cut their subs and LoL regained its status as the primary game of the "WUGS afterparty". I dropped mine at the summer as I couldn't afford to maintain it. I did manage to finish Jaleen's personal story, which was spectacular. I might still doodle some of my characters, as I did rather like them, but I'm probably not going back. I was quite excited for the F2P transition but given the absolutely awful money-grubbing way EA's going about handling F2P accounts I'd really rather not deal with it. It's a pity.
Oh, and Guild Wars 2 happened. It's pretty cool, but I also haven't played in like a month (I logged on during Halloween, attempted the phase 3 event, failed twice before realizing it was group thing, didn't want to put the effort in of finding a group, and logged off - I really do like GW1 Halloweens better frankly). Like, it's a good game; I'd give it an 80 or so. But there's something missing and I can't quite put my finger on it. I'm sure part of it is that my GW1 guild got splayed across several servers and I haven't talked to a lot of them in a while, and part of it is I never got back in contact with the RP community, and part of it is my friend who I was excited to play with and I drifted apart once we got back to school, and part of it is despite several members having GW2 LoL sort of precludes most other games at WUGS. But there's something else, something that doesn't catch me like GW or WoW did. I dunno. It's enjoyable; I'm sure I'll get my money's worth out of it over time.
Also I really haven't been playing many computer games at all since school started. After I got out of my brief GW2 craze, it's really only been League with my WUGS buddies, a bit of a Torchlight II binge every few weeks (usually singleplayer, but I do run a character with my dad), and messing around in The Sims 3 (I may have made the Avengers... ehe). Really I've been spending waaaaaay more time fussing about Homestuck which is just all of the things, and fangirling over Avengers stuff like whoa. I have not read this much fanfiction since I was 12. A large portion of October was spent preparing for the grand Avengers Halloween thing we ended up doing - the friend running Pathfinder made a really intense Loki costume and her boyfriend was coming up to visit and being Hawkeye, so I decided to be Black Widow and coerced some friends into being everybody except Bruce (poor Bruce). I would post pictures of my costume but I actually don't have any good full-body shots and I don't feel like crawling into my costume to take them. It was awesome though! We swing danced and ate shawarma (nom nom) and got fanboyed over in a comic book store (awesome ego boost).
So yeah! That's things. Who knows if I'll post more soon or not. Hopefully so, but we'll see.
